Evening.  The breeze countered the burning sun, but finally they were approaching temperatures akin to those of Sirdabi.  The sharp eyes of Indra Zaman scanned the horizon once again, then travel downward, one sailor amidship - yet even he, with one glance upright, gave a nod and started below decks.  A cheery smile as the young man planted in the platform gave a salute that was just insincere enough to be whimsical, but just sincere enough to be charming rather than disrespectful.  As the man's head disappeared beneath the surface of the vessel, the change on his face was gradual but without delay.

Alone.  No one to smile for, no one to impress.  His expression drifts away from nonchalance and airiness into one of a strange melancholic ease.  Acceptance, but hardly with peace.  He hangs precariously, daringly, from the rigging, his hand snaked around the webbing of rope as he watches the mist.  What had made him so reluctant to leave, after all this time?  Certainly not a sense of belonging - he had spent over a year nearly comatose, in plain and simple repitition.  ...Was it that he felt like he was leaving him behind?

"At least -  I hope you don't see it that way." Indra murmurs into the breeze.  "I tried, you know.  I tried to find out what I could.  But if you are still out there, made to wander...it may be a very, very long time before I can do anything to help you.  And if you aren't-"  Eyes close, his soft features looking well beyond his nineteen years as hardship threatens to make its scars known.  "I hope wherever you are is better than there.  Hard to imagine any place isn't."
