Ariziya, the noble youth, and Yasin, the smith, spent some time in the galley engaged in a rather heated argument. Insults were thrown, mainly by the Irzali as the smith is no doubt far more able to refrain from such unbecoming behaviour, but no punches were added to the tally. The shipwitch's sacrifice and the affairs of Sayyida al-Dhahab featured heavily, as did a lot of taunting from Ariziya, and a lot of rather earnest attempts at reason from Yasin.
Accounts differ as to who actually 'won' the debate, for neither party looked especially victorious when they left the galley...
