Command Ideas 1 of 1
Sept. 19, 2026, 2:41 p.m.

In the full recognition there are much higher priorities than any of these random thoughts, here are some ideas for commands that have come up for me lately!

Close <cloak>: A way to just close a cloak-style object so it covers everything beneath, for those of us idiots who didn't realize this wasn't automatic when you raised the hood.

Limit <stat or skill> to <number>: Sets the specified skill or stat to a new effective ceiling - BELOW the actual level - so if you want to do something badly on purpose, you can. Inspired by being asked to create some terrible pottery and failing to do so.  Probably also useful for deceiving your enemies. (Could have a dissembling check if you roll a stat/skill with this publicly.) Would probably need to clear on log-out to avoid issues.

Damage <item> to <percentage>: Mess up an item's durability and its value, so if you want to turn your clothes to rags you can. Maybe adds "damaged" into the sdesc after the initial article, or a different adjective depending on level of damage.

Tear <item>: To make bandages out of a piece of clothing. I did discover you can do this with salvage, but it's something that probably you should be able to do without tinker's skill, and also salvage only ever nets you 1 item. Salvaging a whole kaftan to get one bandage feels like a rough return on investment.

Withdraw <amount> dirham: I wanted a dirham specifically to use as a crafting ingredient in a custom recipe, but couldn't figure out any way to withdraw one at the bank the other day. Alternatively, making a withdrawal over 100 follies could give you dirham automatically.

Scar <hitlocation> <short description> <longer description>: I've RP'd several of my wounds scarring in the past when they codewise healed okay, just because I like having lingering markers of injuries that were ICly meaningful. It'd be fun to be able to add them as scars without having to bug staff for something small.

Assess: So there are often things I'd love to be able to see that assess doesn't record. Both of these things especially come up with forageables:
- Salvageability with tinker: Can I turn this item into something else or will it salvage into nothing? I've destroyed... a lot of stuff trying to find this out.
- Usability for a craft: Is this item functional as a specific thing? I.e., to check if an item like a scrap of cloth can be used for repairs or bandages, or if it's just cloth.

Config options: There are also a couple config options I'd love if they were possible!

- Combat details in logs: I'd love to be able to have the actual combat output save in my log instead of just the line describing the attack as an emote, so it's clearer later how a fight actually went down for RP purposes. Also because I'm a nerd and might want to analyze this stuff later sometime.

- Daily prompt: An OOC prompt at whenever the game's day marker rolls over (8 pm EST?) to quietly let you know things have codewise rolled over. This is because most days I utterly forget to practice languages. This could also give you prompts on the days payments go through, rent is due, etc.
